San Antonio/LA Soiree - SA Film Festival

This past Sunday, Marcia hosted a SA/LA Soiree for Executive Director and Founder of the San Antonio Film Festival, Adam Rocha, along with his A-list team - his wife Susan and best friend Martin - during their trip to Los Angeles. Adam was in town scouting for studio films, independent features, panelists and experts to attend the 23rd annual film festival in San Antonio.

Last year, A Classy Broad was an official selection of the San Antonio Film Festival, and Rocha awarded Nasatir with a Lifetime Achievement Award, being a native San Antonian and glass ceiling breaker.

We were thrilled to return the favor and introduce Adam to notable Hollywood movers and shakers to attract more attention to South Texas' LARGEST Film Festival.

This year's festival will be held August 1-6th and word on the street is that there will be a new award given out to an outstanding female filmmaker who strives to break glass ceilings. That award will be The Mogulette - The Marcia Nasatir Award.

The girl from San Antonio, who shattered Hollywood's glass ceiling, returned to her roots for a special Texas screening of A CLASSY BROAD: Marcia's Adventures in Hollywood on Friday, June 17th. Hosted at her alma-mater, Jefferson High School, this film event was co-sponsored by the Northwestern University Alumni Club of San Antonio, the Thomas Jefferson High School Historical Preservation Society and the Lassos, Alumni Association.

Guests were invited to tour the nationally-recognized school before the screening, featuring a live Lasso performance, the debut of the ACB t-shirts, AND a Q&A with the dynamic duo: Marcia & Anne.

Of course, the best part was getting to meet all the wonderful people who helped bring A CLASSY BROAD to Marcia's hometown.

Thank you so much Sandy Gulledge with the Northwestern University Alumni Club of San Antonio; Dana Ward with Thomas Jefferson High School Historical Preservation Society; and Nancy Andry with The Lassos Alumni Association for producing the event and celebrating Marcia's legacy! We appreciate all of your hard work, generosity and love for our A CLASSY BROAD.

And we must give an extra special thanks to Wes Hughes, for keeping us in check and being our tour-guide, driver, and t-shirt merchandiser - you're a true Texas gentleman!
